Lindsay Rafuse, MSW, RSW

Lindsay is Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services workers as well as a member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with her Masters in Social Work in 2015 and since then has been working as a clinical social worker at the University of Waterloo where she offers individual services to the adult and young adult population.

Recognizing that every individual is unique, Lindsay offers a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion and elements of Positive Psychology. In collaboration, you and Lindsay will work together to decide which approach, or combination of approaches, will best fit your needs. Lindsay sees her role as your guide in navigating whatever circumstances you are facing. She sits alongside her clients through their journey. In her work, she helps you to identify your own strengths and resilience to overcome life’s challenges.
Lindsay believes in a holistic approach to mental health and wellness. She has worked with a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, body image and disordered eating concerns, stress, self-esteem as well as emotion regulation and helping individuals navigate life transitions. She has completed specialized training and is in the process of becoming certified in Perinatal (from conception to one year after birth) Mental Health. As a mother herself, she is passionate about helping parents, especially moms, not only survive but thrive through prenatal and postpartum life and all that it brings. She wholeheartedly believes that each parent deserves to enjoy parenthood and sees her job in helping you achieve this.
